Outreach Activities

The Soaring Safety Foundation strives to reach out to the SSA membership with a variety of hands on programs. These include:

FIRC - Flight Instructor Refresher Clinics. This FAA approved-course offers CFIGs an opportunity to renew their FI certificate by attending 16 hours of class room instruction. These clinics are held around the country on an as-needed basis. There is also a clinic co-located with the annual SSA convention. This page provides more details.

Safety Seminars - the SSF hosts an annual safety seminar during the SSA convention. We would also like to promote other events. This page contains information on the upcoming events.

Site Survey Program - The SSF has taken an active role in accident prevention activities. The Site Survey program is modeled after a similar program developed in Sweden. This Swedish program is credited with reducing glider accidents by more than 50%. Learn how your club or school can benefit too.
