Bronze Badge Final Exam - Instructions

Bronze Badge Applicant Actions:

Go to https://www.soaringsafety.org/learning/bronzebadge.html on the SSF web site.
Click 'Take Final Exam' button.

The ‘Take Final Exam’ button takes you to a form.
The button is located down the page from the practice question block below the Bronze Badge admonition

On the form, click the box confirming your SSA Instructor (SSAI) authorized you to take this exam
Fill out the form, you will need your SSA number.
When you are ready, click ‘Take Final Exam’.

You will be presented with 50 test questions.
These test questions are randomly drawn from the pool of questions in the Bronze Badge Study Guide.
Answer all questions, blank questions count against you.

After completing the exam click on the 'Submit to SSAI' button.

Your test will be graded online, and a copy of the results sent your SSAI in an email.

SSA Instructor Actions:

After the Applicant completes the test and selects ‘Submit to SSAI’, you will receive an email sent to the email address you have listed with the SSA.

hint: make sure your SSA profile has your current email address.

The email body contains one of two messages:

Message 1: The applicant scored below the 80% mark

The Applicants name, date of the test, and sore.
A statement that the applicant failed the test and must retake it at a later date.
A statement noting that the SSAI should provide additional instruction.

Message 2: The applicant scored 80% or higher

Applicants name, date, score and the list of missed test questions, answers, and references.
A PDF attachment answer sheet: the correct answers are shown in black; incorrect answers are shown in red.
You as the Applicants SSAI must go over the test with the Applicant and correct the test to 100%.

Once the review is complete and the test corrected to 100%,

Print and sign the PDF
Indicate the test has been corrected to 100%
Submit a copy of the answer PDF to the SSA along with the Badge postcard indicating that the Applicant has been awarded a Bronze Badge.

To review additional questions that the applicant might have questions on:

Go to https://www.soaringsafety.org/learning/bronzebadge.html
Click on the second button 'Sequential set of 20 questions starting at' and enter the test question number you want to review.

The test question number is listed in the BBSG No. column of the .pdf answer sheet.

Click on the “Take Quiz” button

You will be presented with a list of 20 questions starting at the question number you entered.

From the questions page, click the 'Grade Quiz' button at the bottom of the block.

You do not need to answer the questions prior to selecting ‘Grade Quiz”.
The questions, answers, and references will then be listed to review with the Applicant.

You will need to repeat this process for each question to be reviewed
